The New Web Journal

Welcome to a new feature here at Spook Central - the web journal. I will use this to post site update information, news, and my thoughts. This will allow me to give this site some freshness, since all other parts of this site will not be updated very often.  I'll even post stuff on here that will never be on the site or may not appear on the site for a long time to come.

You can even post replies/comments to my postings, though if people abuse this privilege by spamming it, then I'll turn this feature off. (Keep in mind that I won't read the replies on a regular basis, so e-mail is still the best way to contact me.)

Lastly, I apologize for the glut of advertisements that appear above this journal. This journal service is provided by Bravenet. The caveat of getting the service for free are the ads. I can't justify paying $65 a year to remove the ads when I'm only using three Bravenet services (out of the many that they offer). Although I can't remove the ads for you, you can remove them yourself.

FIREFOX/SEAMONKEY/MOZILLA/NETSCAPE
Install the AdBlock Plus extension/add-on and add these filters to it:

http://mercury.bravenet.com/*
bravejournal.com#DIV(id=sponsorBar)
bravejournal.com#DIV(id=braveJournalBar)
bravejournal.com#DIV(id=pageFooter)

ALL WEB BROWSERS (WINDOWS ONLY?)
Add the following line to your HOSTS file as per these instructions (look for the topic "Blocking Unwanted Images/Websites - The Hosts File"). Please note that this will only remove the giant hideous ad (the text bars will stay).

127.0.0.1 mercury.bravenet.com

Before you hide the giant ad, I suggest you visit it at least once. That's only fair to Bravenet. Also, if Bravenet changes the location of the ad, this technique will no longer work (unless you get the new location, of course).
